Oak Traditional Framed Log Store

Earlier in the year we made a massive log store [6x2m on plan] for a repeat customer who is trying to heat his house all year by firewood – using two wood burners and save on his massive gas bill by processing the firewood himself.

The structure was made from ‘green’oak, using traditional jointing techniques – draw dowel mortise and tenons for post to wall plate and braces and wedged dovetail tenon for the in-tension tie beam. The client wanted to do a bit himself so he was going to roof it in wainy edged boards.
