Broadoak Primary School, Manchester
February 2017
Just installed a crazy play structure in at a new build school in Ashton under Lyne.
The structure is based on our Twisting frame but with alot of added features. These include a slide with seating steps, a stage, six sandpits with lids that become walls when open and play surface when closed, a clock, scales, shop counter and vehicle refueling pumps. The slide is having a wetpour rubber splash zone and the whole structure will have a bike track marked around it, the children can cycle up and down ramps through the centre of the structure as well.
The structure has a galvanised steel frame with posts and beams and deck in Douglas Fir. Oak has been used to detail around the wildflower greenroof and coloured acrylic panels.
We have also installed a bench around an oak tree and made an oak leaf storytelling throne, a stage and other benches. The rest of the site is not yet finished and we will install these items later in the year.
