A pergola for the outdoor seating area of Bank House, Hathersage.
Douglas Fir frame, with almost 50m of continuous wall plate. Eight tabled wedged scarf joints hold this beam together, and twelve posts and twenty four braces keep it in the air. All joints are mortise and tenon with double pegged draw dowels. This is hopefully phase one, with seating, planters and a roof structure to follow.
